There is a new chapter to this colour. The heirs of a late conceptual artist who made a certain blue famous trademarked his name. They've filed a claim against us for making this paint for other artists artists to use, so we can no longer sell it.
So we are doing the only thing that makes sense. We are giving it away.
A fixed amount of this super matte, incredibly deep blue will be added to every order this Friday only until the batch is gone. Artists should not lose access to colour because of paperwork. If we cannot sell it, you can have it.
WHAT THIS BLUE IS
This is a high grade, ultra matte, rich blue acrylic paint created by British artist Stuart Semple. It is a completely original formulation. It has nothing to do with the late conceptual artist known for monochrome blue works, and it is not endorsed by his heirs or the owners of his trademark.
By accepting this paint you confirm that you are not an heir or beneficiary of the late conceptual artist famous for painting blue squares, and that this paint will not make its way to any heir or beneficiaries to the best of your knowledge and belief.
WHAT IT FEELS LIKE
A deep, velvety, absorbing blue with a soft powdery look. Totally flat. Super matte. Smooth. No stink. No clumps. No weird toxicity issues. Just a pleasure to use.
It took Stuart and the studio team a long time to perfect this. The community had asked for this colour from the very beginning. We made it for you, and we are still putting it in your hands.
WHY WE ARE STILL SHARING IT
Stuart Semple has always believed that colour should belong to everyone. That belief does not disappear because someone else trademarked a name. This giveaway is our way of keeping the spirit of open colour alive and making sure artists get access to the materials they want.

HOW TO USE
- Shake the bottle well
- Apply with a brush
- For spraying, dilute with about 40 percent water
- Wash brushes with warm water
- Avoid applying a varnish on top. It may reduce the mattness and shift the colour slightly.
